Through shape shifting, we can become more skillful in safely navigating the real world. The shape shifting method comes from the ancient bard Taliesin who recorded the mysteries of shape shifting in his poetry. Prior journeying experience is helpful, but not necessary. Please do not enter during journeys when there is drumming. |
Misha Magdalene
Misha Magdalene is a multi-classed, multi-geek, multi-queer witch and sorcerer with a degree in gender studies and a slightly odd sense of humor. They're an initiate of multiple lines of traditional witchcraft, including the Anderson Feri tradition and Gardnerian Wicca, and have also been known to dabble recklessly in both modern ceremonial magic and grimoiric goetia. They are the author of "Outside the Charmed Circle: Exploring Gender & Sexuality in Magical Practice," coming in January 2020 from Llewellyn. Find them at mishamagdalene.com and various places around the Pacific Northwest. Misha will be leading a workshop titled: A Queerness of Divinity: Exploring the Fluidity of Gender and Sexuality in Polytheisms Past and Future Western approaches to gender and sexuality have been rooted in binary notions of biology, orientation, and identity for more than a thousand years, but both history and mythology suggest that the ancients were nowhere near as constrained or concrete. We'll look at the fluidity of gender and sexuality expressed in the polytheisms of the past, discuss how that fluidity served the spiritual needs of contemporary devotees, and explore ways that we can engage as modern polytheists with that same fluidity to speak to our own needs and lived experiences. |

Gwion Raven
I've been a practicing witch and ritualist since 2003. I’m a tattooed Pagan cook, musician, kitchen witch, and author. I revel in the sensuous, profane, sublime, and divine. My own magic, my own way of changing the world is through devotional practice. It's my belief that we can re-enchant our lives by re-framing the so-called "mundane" as sacred and divine. By imbuing the familiar with a sense of wonder and infusing daily life with acts of magic, I choose to make all of life devotion. I love rituals. I mean, I really love rituals. I'm enchanted by the very act of drawing a temenos line between this moment and that moment. Time itself seems to stand still or speed up or shift in some way that doesn't seem quite congruent with the way I understand the universe to usually work on an otherwise ordinary Monday afternoon. If you’re so called, you can read more about me at The Witches Next Door at Patheos Pagan. Gwion will be presenting a ritual titled: Kitchen Witchery Made Easy Becoming a kitchen with its easier than you think. You might already be a kitchen witch and not even realize it. In this workshop, we’ll explore the three basic components of Kitchen Witchery: All food is sacred, tools make the witch, and cookery as devotion. Oh! You’ll leave with at least one newly consecrated kitchen witch tool as well. |
